I noticed that the effects vary by phone company, especially Samsung vs. Apple users. Why is this, and is there a way to make them equal across phone types. It seems strange to me to have a difference.

We have noticed that as well.  If it is that way, there has to be a Google vs. Phone Company as far as whats allowed and whats not.  Some things Google can control, some things they cant.  This is what we’ve heard.
